What To Pack For The Perfect Picnic

The beautiful British Sunshine is well and truly here, and with it comes the prospects of venturing outdoors with a picnic hamper bursting at the seams. But what are the best things to pack to maximise your picnic experience?

Cold Boxes & Ice Packs

It's vitally important to keep everything cold and fresh, particularly with any meat, fish or dairy based dishes. Keeping them fresh not only stops them going off in the hot weather, avoiding any unwanted illnesses, but also keeps your chosen snacks tasty as ever.

Your Main Dishes

Focussing on a main dish that can be easily divided up that everyone loves is going to make your life significantly easier. Sandwiches, Quiches, Tarts & Pies are all great for picnics to easily serve up to multiple people nice and quickly.

Snacks

I think it's safe to say the snacks are up there with the most important. Bring plenty and have variety there to fit all needs. Finger foods like sausage rolls, sandwiches, scotch eggs and breaded chicken are picnic favourites due to them travelling well and consistently tasting delicious. We recommend wrapping in foil and then placing within your cool box / under an ice pack to keep these treats tasting great.

Dessert

Once you've satisfied your appetite with your mains and snacks, there's always that little bit of room left in your tummy for dessert. Pastries and cakes are always guaranteed winners and are easy to share round. Again, make sure to wrap within your cool box to keep fresh.

Drinks

If you're looking to stay refreshed, then a fruity based drink like an iced tea pre-chilled or some freshly squeezed fruit is your best bet. If you're looking for something slightly more boozy, then a pimms with cold lemonade or a glass of rose will keep you feeling cool as cucumber throughout the day.
